On-Campus Resources
Calfresh (federally known as the Supplmental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP) is a federally mandated, state supervised government entitlement program that provides monthly food benefits to low-income households. Calfresh is available to eligible students and The Basic Needs Center provides walk-in CalFresh enrollment support on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm in the Basic Needs Center on the third floor of Calpulli Center on the SDSU campus (Suite 3200). The A.S. Food Pantry provides students free food with no questions asked. It is a great way to stretch your food budget and pick up free food. The A.S. Food Pantry is located on the 2nd floor of the Aztec Student union. Their hours and more information can be found on their website: https://as.sdsu.edu/foodinsecurity/foodpantry/
The Basic Needs Center provides different resources for food support in our space:
- Snacks: The Basic Needs Center provides free snacks that are available in our office M-F from 8:00am-4:30pm. We are located on the 3rd floor of the Calpulli Center, Suite 3200. If you need to get some snacks while you are on campus, please feel free to check in at the front desk and grab some.
- Supplemental Grocery Assistance Program (SGAP): SGAP is intended to provide students who are ineligible for CalFresh with funding to reduce food insecurity. The program is designed to disburse a one-time $1,000 grant for students to use toward their grocery and food needs across the semester. Please visit our Applications page to learn more and apply.

Off-Campus Resources
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank has a food pantry locator on their website that may be helpful in locating local food pantries near you.
Feeding San Diego is a nonprofit organization connecting people facing hunger with nutritious meals by maximizing food rescue. They provide a free food distribution site where you can find the nearest one near you by inputing your zip code.

2-1-1 is a free resource available nationwide in which individuals can either call or go online for assistance with connecting to a variety of community resources. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 day a year and have connections to over 6,000 resources in the following areas: information and referrals, safety net programs (CalFresh, MediCal, etc.), health (vaccine information), housing, military and veterans, and emergency response. Individuals can go online to search for resources themselves, or call 2-1-1 to speak with an operator who can help assist them and refer out. 2-1-1 can be reached by calling 2-1-1 or going online to 211sandiego.org. Please note: 211 San Diego serves both San Diego County and Imperial County
